Gibson Les Paul Artist 1979 £1100.00 in Edinburgh, Midlothian for sale

Original 1979 Les Paul Artist This guitar has been restored from decades of being coated in nicotine. The cellulose coating is all but gone and the body shows the signs of a 35 year old guitar. However this guitar now has the genuine character, tone and playability of a classic instrument. I have deep cleaned the body work and burnished it back to a silky warm finish then had Chris McIntyre (McIntyre Guitars) fit new hard ware and set it up. The original Artist model had active circuitry for bass, middle and treble, but this was alleged to be unreliable so I replaced the electronics with new Bare Knuckle pick ups and pots etc. The extra cavity and holes in the body allowed me to fit coil tapping switches for the matched humbuckers which now gives seven possible tone characters. The Bare Knuckle Mules are a joy to listen to with tonal clarity and punch at all volumes. With a flick of a switch the single coil of either pickup will give a you unique range of tones. The hardware list includes Gotoh bridge and tail stop, genuine Gibson tuning heads, Bare Knuckle Mules (matched output), Bare Knuckle pots and capacitors, Allparts switches, socket and switchplate. All the original electronics and hardware are included in the sale but will require restoration to be usable. The hard case included is brown and of an indeterminate source.
